Teacher's authority by mental disability children

Diploma thesis deal with topic of teacher's authority, specifically by pupils with mild mental retardation. Authority is polysemous term so it is impossible to limit it only for one definition but it is necessary to look at it as a process which is formed in a long-term interaction - in this thesis namely between teachers and pupils. In the theoretical part I pay attention to the term authority in a historical and modern point of view and also contexts authority with phenomenons as for example media or discipline. Shortly I mention personality of pupils with mild mental retardation and teacher's personality. Attention is also paid to communication with pupils, solving problems at school and relationship teacher - pupil. In the practical part I condukt a survey of this phenomenon using qualitative method of halfstructured dialogues. In order to it could be objectively assessed perception of authority by pupils with mild mental retardation it is necessary to compare (their) results with pupils without mild mental retardation, with whom were led discussions too. The practical part precedes preliminary research. Teacher's Authority from Students' Points of View in Second Stage of Basic Education

The main objective of this thesis, entitled "Teacher's Authority from Students' Points of View in Second Stage of Basic Education," is to discover the views of pupils on the teacher's authority and to map potential differences in the answers of students depending on their sexes and school success. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part systematically describes theoretical knowledge related to the teacher's authority. At first it defines the concept of authority as a general term, followed by a section that focuses on the teacher's authority and its crisis and connection between and the upbringing and discipline in the classroom. The second part of the thesis focuses on empirical research, where methods of the questionnaire were used.

The thesis analyzes the crisis of authority in education. The first part deals with an analysis of the contemporary concept of authority; the definition of dimensions, legitimacy, power, bureaucracy, charisma, obedience to authority, authoritarianism, and the definition of the crisis of authority in society. The second part evaluates the knowledge, defines crisis of authority in education, analyses the roots of this crisis, and offers a solution. The final part deals with the definition of animation as a third dimension of education and defines its potential benefits in the issue of crisis of autority.

This work deals with authority issue in society, educational studies, with authority of teacher and authority of leisure-time educator. In its first part this work defines authority and describes phenomenons attached to it. Later this work desribes actual position of authority in society. Final this work defines phenomenons, which affects authority of the teacher and authority of leisure-time educator, with short comparison.
